What is a Stick Pack Machine?

Stick pack, or stickpack, machines are used to package powders, liquids or granules into small individual packages. Our customers typically use them for food products like coffee, sauce, sugar, and nutritional supplements.

Here’s how it works: It starts by pulling out a length of packaging film, much like pulling out a length of plastic wrap in your kitchen. This film is then split into individual lanes and each lane is shaped into a slender tube, similar to forming a thin drinking straw.

The machine then pours your product down into these tubes, fills them up, and seals both ends, creating individually packaged stick packs.

Essentially, stickpack machines are high-speed assembly lines dedicated to creating handy, slim, individual packages. They are a highly efficient way to speed up your packaging process and scale your production capabilities.

What’s the difference between a stick pack and a sachet?

A stickpack and a sachet are both types of small, single-serving packages. The main difference between them is their shape and the amount of product they hold.

A stick pack is like a tall, slim envelope. It’s often used for single servings of products that you pour, like sugar, drink mix, or condiments. The design is sleek and efficient, using less packaging material than other types of packets. They’re called “stick packs” because they’re long and narrow, a bit like a stick.

On the other hand, a sachet is typically wider and flatter. Picture the small packets of tomato sauce or mustard you get with take-away food. Sachets can hold a bit more product than stick packs, and they can be used for a wider range of items like liquids, gels, and creams.

The choice between the two really depends on your product and how you want your customers to use it. If you’re looking for a compact, pourable package, a stick pack could be the way to go. If you need a bit more space or have a thicker product, a sachet might be a better choice.
